THE EFFECT OF DESIGN FEATURES AND HUMIDITY PROPERTIES OF SOIL ON THE STRESS-STRAIN STATE OF EARTH DAMS BUILT FROM LOCAL MATERIALS

Abstract (English):
The statement of the problem of determining stress-strain state of retaining hydro-technical structure under basic loads - gravity, hydrostatic pressure, soil moisture content – is given in the paper. The problem is solved in a plane elastic formulation using finite element method. The results of solving the problems are displacements, stresses and strains in earth structure. As an example, the earth dam of Rezaksay water reservoir in Uzbekistan is considered. A number of conclusions related to structure’s constructions are drawn, as well as the influence of physical and mechanical properties of the soil (local rock mass) on stress-strain state is revealed.
